PROJECT - TOUCH SOUND
“TOUCH SOUND USES A LINEAR MICROPHONE TO CONVERT SOUNDS ITS POINTED AT INTO A HAPTIC RESPONSE. THE OBJECT FITS INTO THE PALM OF YOUR HAND ALLOWING ANYONE WITH REDUCED HEARING TO EXPERIENCE SOUND AND MUSIC IN NEW AND ENRICHING WAYS.”

BRIEF - REDESIGN AND BATCH 3D PRINT THE CASING FOR THE TOUCH SOUND DEVICE
THE PRIMARY FOCUS OF THE PROJECT WAS TO DEVELOP AN ERGONOMIC CASING THAT COULD BE 3D PRINTED AND EASILY ASSEMBLED.
THE FINAL DESIGN CONSISTED OF TWO MAIN CASING COMPONENTS, BOTH PRINTED AS SINGLE PIECES WITHOUT THE NEED FOR SUPPORT MATERIAL, MAXIMISING SURFACE QUALITY.
I PROVIDED CLASS A SURFACES FOR THE DEVICE EXTERIOR AND DEVELOPED A CUSTOM 3D PRINTER PROFILE SPECIFICALLY TUNED FOR THIS PRODUCT, ENSURING THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE SURFACE FINISH.
THE DESIGN WENT THROUGH MULTIPLE ITERATIONS BEFORE REACHING A FINAL VERSION, ALLOWING ME TO SUCCESSFULLY PRODUCE THE FIRST PRODUCTION RUN OF UNITS.
