PROJECT - TOUCH SOUND
“TOUCH SOUND USES A LINEAR MICROPHONE TO CONVERT SOUNDS ITS POINTED AT INTO A HAPTIC RESPONSE. THE OBJECT FITS INTO THE PALM OF YOUR HAND ALLOWING ANYONE WITH REDUCED HEARING TO EXPERIENCE SOUND AND MUSIC IN NEW AND ENRICHING WAYS.” ​​​​​​​
TASKS
design an ergonomic casing that houses all internal electronics and is easily assembled.
Optimise the design for 3D printing and small-scale production.
Created Class A surfaces for a high-quality exterior finish.
Developed a custom 3D printer profile tailored to the project needs.
Engineered support-free geometries to ensure clean prints and minimise post-processing.
Conducted multiple design iterations to refine functionality and manufacturability.
Successfully produced the first batch of finished units.
